So sorry your cat got hurt!! Since you live nearby, it’s possible he tangled with one of the wild creatures—possibly a fox, coyote, or even a mountain lion. Keep him safe by keeping him indoors. Cats are fierce predators to wild birds, but they can be prey too. Hope he heals well!
