I fought for years to save the redwoods, Sempervirens and Gigantea. (sp?) Even photographed the dedication of Redwood N.P. for the NPS. I am forever pained to see all the stumps amid the second growth where there should be towering old growth. But at least some tracts have been saved, even if only with new growth. Those are now preserved to grow into the towering trees I remember. It is forever a fight, but one that we sometimes, over time, can win.
So little time, in human terms.

Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of redwoods Marion! I guess we also need to adopt the patience of the redwood as it grows over the centuries.
